General Info

Tucked along Av. França, 48 in Vila-real, El Faro Restaurante Vila-Real instantly gives off that relaxed Mediterranean vibe you hope for when searching for a memorable dining spot. The location feels easy to access, and once you step inside, the trendy yet welcoming atmosphere sets the tone for a laid-back but refined experience. Whether you’re planning a casual lunch or a slow evening meal, this restaurant strikes a nice balance between comfort and style.

What really stands out here is the menu. It’s thoughtfully curated, focusing on Mediterranean flavors while still offering variety for different tastes, including vegetarian options. I started with the Zamburiñas a la Plancha, and they arrived perfectly seared-simple, fresh, and full of natural flavor. Then came the Fideuá al Senyoret, a dish that truly defines the kitchen’s attention to detail. Every bite felt rich and satisfying without being too heavy, which is exactly what you want from a well-executed Mediterranean plate.

Seafood lovers will appreciate dishes like Gambas Rojas del Puerto de Burriana a la Plancha, where the quality of the ingredients speaks for itself. The Poulpe Grillé also deserves a mention-tender, slightly smoky, and beautifully presented. For something a bit more unique, the Clotxina de Roca con Salsa de Pistacho adds a creative twist, combining traditional elements with a subtle nutty finish that lingers pleasantly.

Service here plays a big role in the overall experience. The table service is attentive without being intrusive, making it easy to relax and enjoy your meal. Staff are friendly and efficient, and everything flows smoothly from ordering to serving. It’s also worth noting that debit cards are accepted, which adds convenience for visitors.

If you’re someone who enjoys a good coffee to round off your meal, you won’t be disappointed. The coffee here is genuinely excellent-smooth, aromatic, and a perfect way to slow things down after a flavorful dining experience. It’s the kind of detail that leaves a lasting impression.

From what I observed, reviews often highlight both the consistency of the dishes and the inviting atmosphere. The restaurant manages to feel trendy without losing its authenticity, and that’s not always easy to achieve. Whether you’re dining solo or with company, El Faro Restaurante Vila-Real offers a reliable and enjoyable spot to explore Mediterranean cuisine in Vila-real.

What customers say?

“ El Faro – A Local Gem Worth the Wait We’d had El Faro on our list for a while, thanks to glowing recommendations from friends and let’s just say, it fully lived up to the hype. We first tried booking through The Fork, but it only offered one (too early) time slot. Next time quick call for sure will save the day and honestly, it set the tone: the staff were warm, funny, and just the kind of charming you only get from locals who love what they do. From the start, the portions were generous, and the food? A seafood lover’s dream. Standouts included the tellinas, galeras, and the caldereta, especially its unforgettable part of what I’ve now dubbed “torrijas de mar” (not the official name, but it should be). Truly mind-blowing. Not every dish was a personal hit: the sea urchin leaned a little too “green” for my taste, the jamón croquettes were just okay, and the desserts didn’t quite rise to the same level (though maybe we were just too focused on that elusive pineapple with carajillo we didn’t get to try). But really, that’s nitpicking because overall, the experience was fantastic. The setting is beautifully styled and super comfortable, and the hospitality makes you feel like you’re dining at a friend’s seaside home (if that friend happened to be a fantastic cook). Final take? We’re already planning a return visit and telling anyone who’ll listen to go. Thank you to the whole team at El Faro for an unforgettable night! ”

“ A spectacular gastronomic experience from beginning to end. From the starters, it's clear that the food here is prepared with care and exceptional skill. The scallops au gratin with cava are a true delight, delicate and bursting with flavor. The cuttlefish and prawn terrine with almond and honey surprises with its perfect balance, a sweet and savory contrast that is simply perfect. The oxtail crepe with a reduction of its own sauce is pure enjoyment, succulent and full of intensity. And a special mention goes to the homemade croquette of stew and ham, creamy, flavorful, and absolutely wonderful. For the main course, the duck and foie gras fideuà with porcini mushrooms is simply divine: powerful, elegant, and with a flavor that lingers in the memory. A restaurant where the food is spectacular, with quality ingredients, meticulous preparation, and dishes that will win you over. Highly recommended and definitely worth returning to. ”

“ I'd been wanting to try El Faro for a while. I'd heard wonderful things about it, but you know how it is: I like to experience cuisine firsthand. And from the very first moment, I understood why so many people recommend it. The welcome you receive is impeccable. Before entering the dining room, you find yourself in a quiet and private space, beautifully decorated, with soft background music that invites you to unwind and whet your appetite. That little detail already hints at the kind of experience you're about to have. Upon entering the dining room, we were attended to immediately. The staff is attentive, friendly, and professional, something that always adds to the experience and, in this case, perfectly complements the ambiance of the place. We had a special tasting menu for our group, and it was truly a great choice. We started with several appetizers, each one more delicious than the last. Then, half the group ordered lobster paella, and the other half (myself included) duck and foie gras paella. Both were spectacular. I confess I made the "mistake" of trying the duck first and then the lobster... but what does it matter? They were exquisite, perfectly cooked, lightly oiled, and bursting with flavor. The desserts were equally impressive, ending the meal with a sweet touch without being heavy. Afterwards, a leisurely after-dinner conversation rounded off the experience. In short: El Faro deserves five stars... and then some. A place to return to without a doubt. ”

“ An impromptu lunch for two, and despite falling on a day of football and crazy shifts, we ate promptly and properly. The quality of the ingredients was excellent, the portions generous, and above all, the best black rice we can remember—whole grains, cooked just right as they say, and amazing flavor! You can tell Magino has been in the community for over 50 years, first in Burriana and now in Villarreal, and doing it right. The space is well utilized, with beautiful dining rooms and private areas, and the service and culinary experience were outstanding. We'll be back with more guests to try more dishes...hehe ”

“ A magnificent experience at El Faro restaurant. The place is beautiful with a welcoming atmosphere, and the service is excellent; you feel right at home. And then there's the food—absolutely delicious! We truly enjoyed ourselves. We chose the Weekend Menu, which is €39.75, drinks not included. It comes with a welcome aperitif, a choice of four starters from eight options, a main course, and dessert. There's also bread with black garlic aioli, which was delicious. Everything was fantastic; I especially loved the gratinéed scallops and the artichokes. For our main course, we took their recommendation and ordered the duck fideuà with foie gras, artichokes, and mushrooms—spectacular! The homemade desserts, especially the chestnut cheesecake, were a delight. We will definitely be back! ”

“ Great place, great service, and excellent food. The duck and foie gras paella is the most popular; you have to order it and try it—it's a very good choice. 100% recommended. ”
